Practical Nursing Sask Polytechnic Diploma

Practical Nurses are in high demand! If you want to help people and have a career with many opportunities, consider becoming a Practical Nurse!

Study anatomy, physiology, the foundations of health, pharmacology, health assessment, long-term, rehabilitative, medical and surgical care, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health, addictions and more. Standard First Aid/CPR Healthcare Provider ‘C’ AED, TLR and WHMIS along with clinical practice and practicums are included.

When you graduate, you’ll be eligible to write the Canadian Practical Nursing Registration Exam and be able to pursue one of the numerous opportunities available in acute-care, rehab-care, long-term care, homecare and medical centres.

This program is approximately 76 weeks long, offered over two years.

Admission Requirements

You’ll need Grade 12 with a min. avg. of 65% in ELA A30, ELA B30, FDN MATH 30 or PRE CALC 30 or W&A MATH 30; one of BIO 30, CHEM 30 or PHYS 30; and one of SOC STU 30, HIS 30 or NS 30 and English Language Requirement. - specific to Practical Nursing (IELTS).

You’ll be required to provide evidence of a Criminal Record Check, a Vulnerable Sector Search, N95 respirator mask testing and immunization records to meet program requirements.
