Victim Services Coordination

Post-Secondary Education - Human Services

Sask Polytech Applied Certificate

Victim Services Coordinators provide advocacy, information, assistance and referrals to victims of crimes or other traumatic events. You’ll be working with diverse groups of people and individuals who are dealing with emotionally-charged situations, so good communication skills are essential.

You’ll learn about and develop your skills in case management, client services strategies, community partnerships, the criminal justice system, personal wellness and self-care, traumatic event response and volunteer coordination.

When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to work as a victim services coordinator, domestic violence caseworker, or Aboriginal resource officer. You can also look for employment opportunties with police services, corrections services, or community-based programs for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.

This program is approximately 16 weeks long.

You’ll need Grade 12 and English Language Requirement. You may require a satisfactory Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment.
