Heavy Equipment Operator Training Saskatchewan | Mining Training Courses | HEO

Post-Secondary Education - Trades & Technology

Training Program

Love the thought of having control over a large piece of machinery? The Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Training Program provides the basic training for working with large equipment.

This program includes theory, safety tickets, and hands-on training on real equipment (not a simulator) at a job site just outside of Prince Albert.

You’ll train on two pieces of large equipment which may include the crawler tractor, excavator, front-end loader or motor grader. You’ll also earn safety tickets such as First Aid/CPR ‘C’ and Ground Disturbance II.

When you complete this program, you’ll be prepared for employment operating heavy equipment in the construction, road building, pipeline, mining and other industries.

This program is approximately 5 weeks long.

You must be 17 years of age or older and hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence. You will need to send or deliver a copy of your Class 5 Driver’s Licence to our Humboldt Office to complete your application.

You do not need to provide us with a transcript of your high school marks in order to be considered for this program.

Funding may be available. Call 1.800.667.2623 for details.

Please call for information regarding tuition, fees, books and materials.
