In this two-year full time diploma program, you will learn how to support children as they learn through play. You will explore child development, child guidance, and how to create quality programming and learning environments. Learn how to create inviting and effective quality learning environments and develop holistic programs that include early literacy and language, creative arts, numeracy and play experiences. You’ll also learn about how children learn through play, child guidance, programming for infants, toddlers, pre-school and school-age children, administration, childcare regulations and more.
Successful completion of Year 1 courses in the ECE Diploma program qualifies you to apply for Level II certification from Ministry of Education Saskatchewan.
Successful completion of the ECE Diploma- Year 2 courses Program will qualify you to apply for Level III certification. Level III certification is the minimum required to work as a childcare centre director. If you are interested in going further, you will be able to transfer some of your credits to the University of Regina’s Bachelor of Education degree program in Elementary Education.
