Overview
Truck Driver Mandatory Entry-Level Training (1A)
This 4-week program includes 121.5 hours of classroom, yard and on-the-road instruction. You’ll learn driving techniques, professional driving habits, how to use air brakes, and more. When you complete this program, you’ll be prepared to attempt the Class 1 Road Test.
Call 1.800.667.2623 for information about tuition. Tuition is due 30 days before the program start date. If an application is submitted within 30 days of the program start date, full tuition is due at the time of application.
NOTE: To encourage new Class 1 truck drivers to remain and work in Saskatchewan, the Government of Saskatchewan has announced the Class 1 Truck Driver Training Rebate Program. This program provides financial support, a grant of up to $5,000, to help individuals with the cost of obtaining mandatory entry-level training (MELT). The grant is paid out to eligible applicants over five consecutive years, $1,000 annually, after training is completed. Click the link to learn more.
