Truck Driver Training - 1A (Mandatory Entry-Level Training)

Does a career on the road appeal to you? Become a Truck Driver!

If you want a Class 1 Commercial Licence, you must spend a minimum of 121.5 hours in training and pass a vigorous Class 1 Road Test. You’ll spend 47 hours learning in a classroom, 17.5 hours driving in the yard and 57 hours driving on pavement. You’ll learn basic driving techniques, professional driving habits, how to use air brakes and more.

When you complete this program, you’ll be prepared to attempt the Class 1 Road Test.

This program is approximately 4 weeks long.

You must be 18 years of age or older, medically fit and have a Valid Driver’s Licence and 1A Learner’s Permit.
