Tansi and welcome!
As part of Carlton Trail College’s commitment to supporting our Indigenous learners, we provide a range of culturally relevant services which include:
- Assistance with program applications
- Elder visitations and connections to Knowledge Keepers
- Cultural and academic workshops
- Indigenous awards, scholarships and bursary information
- Assistance with Band funding applications
- Personalized learning plans and program supports
- Computer access
- Program celebrations
We also offer cultural learning opportunities and activities for students, staff, instructional and community members throughout the year.
As we serve all self-identified First Nations, Métis and Inuit learners, we encourage our Indigenous students to self-identify on Carlton Trail College’s application forms.
Why?
Because self-identifying helps ensure we can stay in touch to provide related information, scholarship opportunities, events or additional supports that may be available to you.
We’re here to help you succeed.
While Indigenous student resources are available at all College locations, our Four Winds Learning Centre in Punnichy is an adult-focused, inclusive and inter-cultural learning space that focuses on supporting the cultural, academic and personal success of students from the Touchwood Hills and surrounding area.
At Four Winds, advisors can help you adjust to the College community and connect you with outside resources and networks.
Developed and built with the support and assistance of community members and partners, we recognize this location as a special space that reflects the character, community and traditions of Indigenous cultures.
