The advantages of living in small urban and rural communities include less traffic, quiet and safe neighbourhoods, along with generally more affordable living expenses. However, it can also be challenging to find suitable, short-term housing and living accommodations in smaller communities.

Saskatchewan Social Housing Program
The provincial Social Housing Program works with local housing authorities, on behalf of the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, to provide a range of safe and adequate housing options.
This program subsidizes rent according to the degree of financial need.
