Work Placements

Experience really is the best teacher.

Work-integrated learning is an integral part of Carlton Trail College education. Almost all post-secondary programs offer a range of work placement opportunities to help you prepare for your future career.

Work placements may include field placements with an employer, practicums, clinical placements, co-operative education work terms, internships, applied research projects or volunteer-based learning opportunities.

Curious about how work-integrated learning is supported at the College?

  • A Program Coordinator is assigned to act as a liaison between all parties
  • Students are prepared through theory, labs and hands-on activities that are related to their area of study
  • Instructors support students throughout the work-integrated learning term
  • Partnerships with regional businesses and organizations are critical for student and program success
