Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship Program we are pleased to offer Application-Based Scholarships to Carlton Trail College Students.
These scholarships are awarded based on need (financial), merit (community involvement, academic achievement, overcoming a personal circumstance, volunteer work, etc.) or a combination of need and merit.
PLUS, the President and CEO of Carlton Trail College has established The President's 'Courage to Grow' Scholarship. This scholarship is to assist Carlton Trail College students who demonstrate perseverance, dedication, personal resilience and financial need.

Scholarship Criteria
- Application-based scholarships are open to full-time students who are enrolled in or who have started and completed a full-time Carlton Trail College Post-Secondary Program of 12 weeks or longer that started in the 2023 calendar year OR a diploma program that continues in the 2023 calendar year.
- If a donor specifies sponsoring a scholarship(s) for a particular Carlton Trail College Post-Secondary Program of 12 weeks or less or if a program is delivered on a part-time basis, applicants in said program would be eligible for only that/those program-specific scholarship(s).
- A full-time student is defined as a student who is taking 60% or more of a full load of classes. If a student has a permanent disability, full-time is considered to be 40% or more of a full load of classes.
- Students who are enrolled as part-time students in a full-time Carlton Trail College Post-Secondary program of 12 weeks or longer are eligible to apply in their second year of part-time classes.
- A part-time student is defined as a student who is taking less than 60% of a full load of classes. If the student has a permanent disability, part-time is considered to be less than 40% of a full load.
- Students who have previously received an application-based scholarship (need, merit or combined need and merit) are ineligible to apply.
- Students wishing to be considered for scholarships that are based on need must submit the appropriate financial documentation.
- Applications are individually scored by each member of the Carlton Trail College Scholarship Committee. The individual scores are combined, averaged and ranked.
- Award winners are selected based on the specific criteria established by the donor.
- If a student qualifies for more than one application-based scholarship, the largest scholarship that the student qualifies for will be awarded and the next largest scholarship will be awarded to the next highest scoring student that qualifies.
- Early application scholarships, application-based scholarships and performance-based scholarships are considered separately. Students are eligible to receive only one award in each category.
